Place Value
Lyrics – Place Value
By: Daniel Joseph Duey
Yeah
Chorus 1
Pla-Pla A, A ace value
Say I can help you
Hey what I tell you
I’ll make you A, A, Ace Place Value
Play this, what you have to lose?
Play this, what you have to lose?
Play this, what you have to lose?
I’ll make you A, A, Ace Place Value
Verse 1
Some student failed to do this, see it happen all the time
They don’t know names of Place Value to the left of the line
ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands, hundred thousand,
one million, Ten million like my dividends. A hundred million, one billion,
ten billion and then a hundred billion like the children learning through
my music. Some bump to it and use to improve their education and
play this to A, Ace the test their taking on what I’m saying about:
Chorus 2
Pla-Pla A, A ace value
Say I can help you
Hey what I tell you
I’ll make you A, A, Ace Place Value
Play this, what you have to lose?
Play this, what you have to lose?
Play this, what you have to lose?
I’ll make you A, A, Ace Place Value
Verse 2
Place Value, write them down as I flow to the right of the decimal.
Say hey I can help you. The tenths spot is directly to the right of the
decimal. Hey what did I tell you. Hundreds to right of the tens spot
Oh! I’ll make you ace place value. Hundreds to right where the thousands
go. Play this, what you have to loose? Then it’s ten thousands, hundred
thousands, millions, ten millions, then the millions with the “hun-do”.
A hundred million if you didn’t know. One for the road, with one last one to
go, to the right of the hundred millions is billions and if you make a billion
of what I get which is bigger than a little bit, it wouldn’t even add up to
make sense. I’m just letting you know.
Chorus 3
Pla-Pla A, A ace value
Say I can help you
Hey what I tell you
I’ll make you A, A, Ace Place Value
Play this, what you have to lose?
Play this, what you have to lose?
Play this, what you have to lose?
I’ll make you A, A, Ace Place Value
Verse 3
So when I’m taking a couple of numbers with different place values
trying to figure which is bigger, I think about it in currency.
Say I take 255.500 and compare it to 255.53, you see with 255.500
the brain tries to recognize it as 500, but with the .500 the fives in the
tens spots the zeros they don’t really mean nothing. So to the right of
the decimal you can take all of the zeros after the last real rational number,
and drop them all off or as many as you want, but with me I think about in
money and cut one of them. So remember I said if you could think about
it in currency, to me it would be $255.50 compare it to $255.53 and see
that .53 is bigger than .50
Chorus 4
Pla-Pla A, A ace value
Say I can help you
Hey what I tell you
I’ll make you A, A, Ace Place Value
Play this, what you have to lose?
Play this, what you have to lose?
Play this, what you have to lose?
I’ll make you A, A, Ace Place Value
