Lyrics – Verbs
By Daniel Joseph Duey
Verbs
Intro
What do you want me to rap about? Like, talk about how rap is
an action and an action is a verb. Okay.
Chorus
Rap is an action word. Clap is an action word. An action word is
a verb. So when I say I’m ‘bout to rap, you say that’s a verb, and
when you make your hands clap, I’ll say that’s a verb.
The the the bird was the word, now the word is verb. You heard
the word, well heard’s the verb. Verb is an action like Michael
Jackson dancing. Like mmmboppin’ to Hanson, you want some
more verbs? Can you handle it? You understanding,
comprehending it?
A verb is an action kids, so when I drop hits you know what drop
is, a verb. Not a adjective. What’s an adjective? An adjective
describes what something is. For now I’m gonna stick to the
topic. I’ll say some verbs that you can copy and get the party
hopping, dancing, rocking, move your feet around throw your
hands up, clap them. Shake it down to the ground, take your
fingers, snap them. Tell your friends you’re dancing to the new
verbs anthem, I’m rapping…
Chorus
Rap is an action word. Clap is an action word. An action word is
a verb. So when I say I’m ‘bout to rap, you say that’s a verb, and
when you make your hands clap, I’ll say that’s a verb.
Verse 2
I could talk about linking and helping verbs, but I’m gonna stick to
actions cause actions occur. When the beat’s heard, you shake
your body rapidly, students and faculty. Verbs is what you do, you
do something when you move, and there’s a million different
moves you can do to this groove. Like the Cabbage Patch, or go
with the Twist, and if you’re from the new school, then Soulja Boy
it. You see somebody not participating point them out cause
pointing is a verb, and they’re the clown, and clown’s a noun, so
stop clowning around and get up out your seat, do the verb get
down, and rap is an action word, clap is an action word an action
word is a verb.
Chorus Again –
Verse 3
Like the candy, listen to the song now and later. Do the percolator
while you talk like Darth Vader and tell those haters that they
need to savor the flavor. And when I talk about flavor it’s coming
from the rhyme slayer, me, the way I slay these beats and slay is
an action performed by me. Just think if an action is a verb, then
so is the word slay, and so is the word think, and so is the words I
said before I said slayer, listen, do, talk, tell, savor, I should run for
mayor. Press repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat on the CD player
Throw your hands in the air..
