Lyrics – Branches of Government

By Daniel Joseph Duey
Branches of Government

Verse 1
Branches of government there are three that uphold society.
Judicial, legislative, executive’s where you’ll find me. The
President, commander-in-chief but only two terms if re-elected
that’s four years a piece. I have assistants to enforce the laws of
the land, Vice President, which happens to be my manager and
the President of the Senate and if I decide to go back to writing
rhymes he will fill my position for the rest for the time and I’m

Chorus
Sitting in executive branch when I become President. Working
with the judicial and legislative.

Verse 2
Two verses left Mr. Duey how are you gonna demonstrate ‘em?
Talk about judicial then I’ll talk about legislative. Supreme Court,
that’s part of the judicial. They deem what laws are held
constitutional. Legislative, that’s easy, they’re the branches of
government that makes the laws fo’ sheezy, you see me…
commander-in-chief of the military, head of the executive branch
it’s President D and I’m just…

Chorus
Sitting in executive branch when I become President. Working
with the judicial and legislative.

Verse 3
Separation of powers, branches operate independently. Checks
and balances protects rights and liberties. If a bill is approved, I
have the right to turn it down. The veto can be overridden if it
comes back around. Supreme Court can take a law or action by
the president and deem unconstitutional that’s called checks and
balances.

Chorus
Sitting in executive branch when I become President. Working
with the judicial and legislative.
